Opening in 2005, Beacon House has served the Ghanaian community through fostering parentless, high-risk children and assisting families in need. Starting out with twelve resident children at a facility in Accra, Beacon House now houses approximately 30 children and 15 infants. These children often come malnourished with developmental delays and chronic, life threatening illnesses.
Partnering with Ghana’s Social Services, Beacon House often takes infants and children that other facilities have rejected. Beacon House has nurtured many underweight, sickly babies to see them overcome the odds and flourish to live a normal life.
In addition to fostering children, Beacon House sponsors tuition scholarships, career training, and business start-up costs for families struggling to stay together and become self sufficient.
